EXPERIENCE
Barrister Safi Ghauri has accumulated an impressive range of experience throughout his career. As the Head of Legal at Klink Financial in Berlin, Germany, since November 2022, he leads all legal matters for a stablecoin-based gamified crypto asset management platform operating in Germany, the UK, and Poland. Barrister Ghauri is responsible for legal structuring of entities, managing stablecoin and fiat flows, conducting legal research, overseeing contract lifecycles, and engaging external counsel. He also plays a vital role in identifying risks and providing assistance to the CEO and COO in day-to-day management.
Previously, as the Vice President of Legal and Compliance at Fasset in Dubai, UAE, from March 2022 to October 2022, Barrister Ghauri spearheaded all legal and compliance affairs for a leading cryptocurrency and digital assets exchange. His responsibilities encompassed regulatory compliance, licensing, shareholder management, funding rounds, partnerships, contracts, intellectual property, product development, and human resources. Under his guidance, the company successfully secured $37 million in Series A funding, and he led the legal restructuring of the group to facilitate future funding rounds. Barrister Ghauri fostered crucial relationships with external counsel, regulators, partners, and shareholders while overseeing corporate documentation lifecycles and establishing effective legal flows.
His expertise lies in digital assets, NFTs, and tokenization. Notably, he secured Pakistan’s first Buy Now Pay Later license for a US client and assisted in securing $15 million in seed funding for the same venture. Barrister Ghauri has also played a pivotal role in obtaining various licenses for clients operating in payments, tokenization, proptechs, fintech, and innovative financial solutions. His extensive research on international Web 3.0 laws has positioned him to advise the Government of Pakistan in the formulation of new laws and policies in this dynamic sector.
