Overview
Trade in specimens of species covered by CITES can require a permit or certificate subject to the species and protection status.
No trade should proceed on the assumption that a normal commercial invoice replaces CITES documentation.
For export transactions, distinguish a Pakistani export permission from destination-country import approval, customs documents and optional buyer certification. These are not interchangeable. The exporter should first confirm the exact product classification and the market to which goods will be shipped.
Who needs this service?
The relevant route depends on the proposed applicant, regulated product or business activity, overseas destination and current government notifications. A general export licence is not universally required for all goods. The relevant regulator's present rules, including restrictions and exemptions, must control.
No trade should proceed on the assumption that a normal commercial invoice replaces CITES documentation.

How the process works
- 01Classify the transaction
Confirm product, PCT/HS description, destination, buyer and end use against current export restrictions.
- 02Check the competent authority
Identify whether Competent wildlife / CITES authority issues a permit, certificate, registration or other clearance for this particular shipment.
- 03Prepare the application file
Assemble the specific material listed below and the current regulator's prescribed form or portal checklist.
- 04Respond and retain the decision
Complete applicable portal steps, address inspection or document calls, obtain the official decision and keep export records.
What to check after approval
Preserve the official determination, consignment documents, buyer instructions and any validity, quantity or destination limitations. Separate one-shipment certificates from continuing business authorisations. If the product, specification, origin or destination changes, review whether the earlier clearance remains applicable.
