Export Facilitation Scheme (EFS) Approval

The Export Facilitation Scheme can provide eligible exporters with authorised treatment of inputs subject to scheme conditions.

01

Overview

The Export Facilitation Scheme can provide eligible exporters with authorised treatment of inputs subject to scheme conditions.

Eligibility, authorised input quantities, records and scheme-specific compliance should be reviewed before any exemption is claimed.

For export transactions, distinguish a Pakistani export permission from destination-country import approval, customs documents and optional buyer certification. These are not interchangeable. The exporter should first confirm the exact product classification and the market to which goods will be shipped.

02

Who needs this service?

The relevant route depends on the proposed applicant, regulated product or business activity, overseas destination and current government notifications. A general export licence is not universally required for all goods. The relevant regulator's present rules, including restrictions and exemptions, must control.

Eligibility, authorised input quantities, records and scheme-specific compliance should be reviewed before any exemption is claimed.

Documents and information

Useful starting material for this enquiry includes:

  • Exporter and manufacturing particulars
  • proposed inputs and output
  • production and stock records
  • application documents.

This is an intake checklist, not a statement that every item is legally mandatory. The applicable official application may request additional or different documents.

04

How the process works

  1. 01
    Select the origin route

Determine whether the buyer needs non-preferential evidence or is claiming a particular agreement or preferential tariff.

  2. 02
    Establish product origin

Match the export facilitation scheme (efs) approval application to production records, the proper importing-country tariff code and the relevant rules of origin.

  3. 03
Review the filing and documentary path

Use the official authority's current procedure for FBR / Pakistan Customs; confirm whether the record is a certificate or a self-issued statement.

  4. 04
    Retain transaction evidence

Keep the accepted proof of origin, invoice and underlying records for any later customs verification.

05

What to check after approval

Preserve the official determination, consignment documents, buyer instructions and any validity, quantity or destination limitations. Separate one-shipment certificates from continuing business authorisations. If the product, specification, origin or destination changes, review whether the earlier clearance remains applicable.
